Nalanda College Colombo recorded a comfortable 53-run victory over traditional rivals Ananda College Colombo in the 49th Annual Limited Overs Battle of the Maroons, played on 7 March 2026 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground. The 2026 encounter was historic as it marked the first-ever Day–Night limited-overs match in the series.
Batting first, Nalanda College posted 261 runs in their allotted 50 overs, with Nemindu Akmeemana (79) and Ranmith Dinuwara (78) leading the scoring. In reply, Ananda College were bowled out for 208 in 46.5 overs, despite a valiant 80 by Danindu Sellapperuma. Osanda Pamuditha starred with the ball for Nalanda, claiming 3 wickets for 19 runs, while Santhul Wijerathne supported with 2 for 50, sealing the win for the Nalandians.
Xtream Youth made a brief visit during the latter part of the encounter, capturing several fan moments and the vibrant atmosphere surrounding the much-anticipated clash.
