The 18th Presidential Installation of the Colombo Gavel Club was held on the 18th of October 2025, at Cinnamon Lakeside, Earl’s Court Ballroom, marking yet another milestone in the club’s ongoing journey of excellence. The evening stood as a celebration of leadership, growth, and camaraderie, graced by the presence of Distinguished Toastmaster Niranjan De Silva, who attended as the Chief Guest. The ceremony saw the prestigious handover of the presidency from Gavelier Esheli Ranawaka to Gavelier Swarna Rawana Dias, symbolizing the continuation of the club’s legacy of dedication and achievement.
The newly appointed Executive Committee for the upcoming term consists of Gv. Swarna Rawana Dias as President, Gv. Kenuli Pallawatta as Vice President Education, Gv. Chenuli Udawatta as Vice President Membership, Gv. Ravishka Stembo as Vice President Public Relations, Gv. Thenula Balagalla as Secretary, Gv. Isindu Gunathilake as Treasurer, Gv. Abinavan Subaruban as Head of Competition Grooming, Gv. Senadi Athapaththu as Assistant Treasurer, and Gv. Akein Ruwanpathirana as Sergeant-at-Arms.
The installation was organized under the guidance of the Project Chairs, Gv. Linaya Sethlini and Gv. Senadi Athapaththu, whose remarkable commitment and teamwork contributed immensely to the success of the event. The evening concluded on a note of inspiration and unity, leaving every member motivated to uphold the spirit of Gavel and carry its legacy forward.
