The PAQS Congress 2026 successfully concluded at Cinnamon Life, City of Dreams in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Hosted by the Institute of Quantity Surveyors Sri Lanka (IQSSL) from August 21–25, 2026, this major international gathering marked the historic return of the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors to the island after 16 years.
Under the theme “Constructing the Evolution: Unleashing the Human Intelligence,” the event brought together over 400 global delegates and 16 regional member organizations including representatives from Australia, Singapore, Canada, China, Hong Kong, and New Zealand.

August 22 (Day 2) – PAQS Committee Meetings – Day 2 of PAQS 2026 in Colombo featured intensive committee meetings focused on sustainability, digitalization, education standards, and branding to shape the future of quantity surveying.
August 23 (Day 3): The official PAQS Board Meeting – Day 3 of PAQS 2026 in Colombo featured the official PAQS Board Meeting at Cinnamon Life. Regional leaders aligned on global professional standards, reviewed technical updates, and looked ahead to future congresses in Qingdao and Hong Kong.
August 23 (Day 3): The President’s Dinner – Following the board meeting, Day 3 wrapped up with the elegant PAQS President’s Dinner held under the stars at the spectacular rooftop of Virticle by Jetwing. Asia-Pacific regional leaders and executive delegates gathered at the top of Colombo to exchange ideas, strengthen cross-border professional ties, and enjoy a night of networking. The exclusive, invitation-only evening was paired with panoramic city views, live music, a buffet feast, and captivating traditional Sri Lankan fire dance performances.
August 24 (Day 4): Official Opening Ceremony & Technical Presentation Sessions – Day 4 marked the grand opening of the main conference at the Lumina Ballroom within Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams! The official opening ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who underscored that modern infrastructure is a vital instrument for long-term national and economic development. Under this year’s core theme, “Constructing the Evolution: Unleashing Human Intelligence,” distinguished keynote speakers including Prof. Charles Egbu, Dr. Eugene Seah, and Prof. Janaka Ruwanpura shared profound insights on digital transformation, AI integration, and the evolving role of quantity surveyors in a smarter, greener world. The momentous morning also celebrated the milestone launch of the PAQS 30th Anniversary Commemorative Book. Moving into the afternoon, delegates engaged in highly interactive technical presentation parallel sessions, exploring pioneering strategies to merge advanced AI technology with invaluable human judgment and ethical leadership.
August 25 (Day 5): Closing Ceremony & Panel Discussion – The grand finale of the PAQS Congress 2026 at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams concluded with an impactful Day 5! The afternoon kicked off with an insightful Closing Panel Discussion, where global industry leaders reflected on key takeaways, AI disruptions, and future regional perspectives for the quantity surveying profession. The official Closing Ceremony followed with the prestigious PAQS Awards presentation and the symbolic flags handover to future host cities.
August 25 (Day 5): Tropicana Serendib – Gala Dinner – The PAQS Congress 2026 concluded with the Tropicana Serendib Gala Dinner in the Lumina Ballroom at Cinnamon Life! The closing night celebrated the spirit of Sri Lanka, blending tropical vibes with rich island heritage through traditional dances and live entertainment. Global delegates, regional leaders, and industry pioneers came together to celebrate a week of collaboration, creating memories that bridge the Asia-Pacific network.
