Vivace Brass ’26, the much-anticipated annual musical concert of the Senior Brass Band of Devi Balika Vidyalaya, was successfully held on 12th June 2026 from 3:30 p.m. onwards at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre, Colombo.
The event brought together some of Sri Lanka’s leading school brass bands, with performances by Visakha Vidyalaya, Royal College, Thurstan College, Gothami Balika Vidyalaya, Ranabima Royal College, Anula Vidyalaya, and Musaeus College, alongside the host school, Devi Balika Vidyalaya.
Adding prestige to the occasion, renowned Sri Lankan music duo Bathiya and Santhush graced the event as Chief Guests.
The evening celebrated exceptional musical talent and spirited performances, with Gothami Balika Vidyalaya being awarded the title of Most Talented Girls’ Brass Band, while Royal College secured the award for Most Talented Boys’ Brass Band.
Vivace Brass ’26 proved to be a remarkable showcase of youthful musicianship, dedication, and the enduring tradition of brass band excellence among Sri Lankan schools.
