Miyesi Visakha 2025/26

Miyesi Visakha 2025/26, the annual musical concert of Visakha Vidyalaya, was held on April 10, 2026, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). The concert celebrated the musical talents of the Visakha Vidyalaya Orchestra, alongside the vocal and dance performances of its students, with students from several leading Colombo schools also joining the programme as guest performers.

The event was graced by Mr Nalaka Kaluwewa, Secretary of Education, as the Chief Guest. The concert featured special appearances by renowned performers Dinesh Gamage and Lavan Abishek, who delighted the audience with a surprise performance, while the De Lanerolle Brothers took the stage as guest artists.

The public performance also welcomed Ekodi Wickramarachchi, a former member of the Visakha Vidyalaya Choir and a past performer at Miyesi Visakha, as the Guest of Honour. Adding to the evening’s highlights, Prasanna Rosa of Marians delivered a special performance during the public show.

A significant moment of the concert was a tribute to the late Mr Ashoka Pushpakumara, whose enduring contribution to the school’s musical heritage was commemorated in recognition of his work in building the Visakha Vidyalaya Orchestra and co-founding Miyesi Visakha. The concert served as both a celebration of the school’s artistic excellence and a heartfelt acknowledgement of the individuals whose dedication has helped shape its rich musical tradition.
