Visakha Vidyalaya achieved a 209 massive score of 9A students at the 2016 Odinary Level Examination along with the Island First Rank going to Anuki Chamathka Pasqual of Visakha Vidyalaya. To convey the utmost gratitude to the teachers who made such glorious achievement come true, Visakha Vidyalaya held 'Guru Upahara Ulela 2017' on the 15th of May 2017 at the Jeramias Dias Hall.

Visakha Vidyalaya is renowned for excelling to the highest excellence in all academic and other extra curricular sectors such as Sports and aesthetics. The school in its long run of hundred years, has accomplished to top in almost every national level competition and examinations and has also been able to capture fame to the country within International grounds.
A brand new luxury bus was also received to the school during the ceremony, with the funds raised from the School Development Society and the Miyesi Visakha Musical.
This particular annual event to thank their teachers bears testimony to the fact that, the young scholars growing and nourished under the school colours, has not only been nurtured to be educated but to be deciplined and grateful.
