Aspirations International Exhibition 2016, the largest International Education Exhibition in Sri Lanka, concluded it's 10th season on 9th & 10th of July 2016, at the Hilton, Colombo. The exhibition turned out to be a resounding success and confirmed the trend of the past 9 years. The exhibition created an exclusive hub for students to interact with the universities directly and conveniently. As in the past years, since its inception this annual event attracted a large number of parents accompanied by students who are at crucial junctures of their lives such as O/L and A/L examinations. This exhibition is organized annually by Aspirations Education, which is a leading career guidance and placement service center par excellence with over a decade of service. Mrs. Premila Paul Raj, Assistant Vice President, Pearson PLC was the chief guest of the exhibition inauguration ceremony and addressed the gathering with related to the importance of education and how 'Aspirations Education' opens up an arena to the students.

In his speech, Mr Ajith Abeysekera, the chairman of Aspirations Education explained about the significance of making the correct decision when selecting the higher study areas and the universities or the institutions. The event attracted more than 3000 visitors over the two days. Keen students and their parents who visited the event reaped the benefits of the exhibition by exploring the study options available for them in internationally accredited Universities and higher education institutes. The exhibition catered to the needs of these enthusiastic students by providing a unique opportunity to have 'one on one' interviews with the university representatives. This provided an exclusive platform for students to gain information about wide range of areas such as study programmes, career opportunities, living cost and conditions, availability of accommodation, transport and other practical aspects pertaining to studying abroad.

The special features of this year's exhibition included a unique station on Engineering. One Spot Light is on RMIT University Vietnam which offers pathways to their prestigious University RMIT Australia. They featured a workshop on 9th July at 1.00pm to 3.00pm for those who are determined to become future Engineers. That workshop provided an understanding on career prospects in the field of engineering, advantages in studying in Vietnam and how to build your future with an engineering career. The Exhibition also introduced a new range of options for students to study in world class universities at lower cost, which includes options for transfer, lower cost destinations and scholarships. The exhibition also unveiled one innovative product by Aspirations Education Research Unit. A deeply integrated "Aspirations world of Medicine" was launched parallel to the inauguration of the exhibition. 'Aspirations World of Medicine' is an initiative by Aspirations Education to provide high quality medical education consulting services to Sri Lankan students aspiring to become Doctors. Aspirations Education possesses strong partnership with a number of prestigious international Medical universities in Australia, Malaysia, China and UK that meet the high standards of the Sri Lankan Medical Profession. Every student is professionally guided through a process that is highly reviewed by panel of medical professionals and educationalists at Aspirations Education. This initiative is conducted with the strict supervision of Mr Ajith Abeysekera and Mrs Daphne Abeysekera, the chairman and the co chairperson. Professional Review Panel included with, Ms D.K.D.J Abeysekera, Dr. I.U Weerakkody, Dr D.C.D.J Abeysekera, Dr D.S Wickramanayake, Mrs. H.G.A Gunathilake and Mr A. S Withanaarachchi.

Introducing their vision, the Aspirations Group Chairman, Mr. Ajith Abeysekera specified "At this crucial juncture in our country, providing genuine career guidance and counseling to students keeping their interests and aspirations at heart, is all important in giving hope to a new generation through a sound education and no amount of hard work such as organizing Aspirations 2016, would be superfluous in carrying this out. It is, in fact, the only way to chart a new beginning for Sri Lanka. One main aim of organizing the exhibition was to inform students who can afford to look for higher education options in universities and institutes abroad, who might be misinformed due to a lack of proper channels to disseminate relevant and accurate information".

Amidst many other offers, "Aspirations Application Week" (11th-15th July) is one of the most popular where student can apply for those selected universities. Those who missed the exhibition could still contact Aspirations Education to obtain benefits and incentives made available to them at the exhibition by certain universities and institutions.
