Sinhala Oratory and Debating Society of Visakha Vidyalaya organized the 'Vagangana 2018' which presented the Oratory Speech Competitions on the 11th of February 2018 and the Debating Competitions on the 4th of March 2018 at the school main auditorium the Jeramias Dias Hall.

A great number of schools participated in the two competitions putting forth the best orators and debaters in the school to compete head on with the other schools. The competition discussions were based on major topics and crisis affecting the contemporary society and world.

The 'Vagangana 2018' orations and debates supported the upcoming orators and debaters to overcome self-consciousness and the fear that paralyzes most young students before a large audience. Witnessing the orations and debates, the students were also presented with comments on the importance of proper planning and preparation and was advised to be simple and 'to the point' inorder to improve their skills to reach much greater heights.

Royal College and Nalanda College students were selected to the final Debate which is to be held on the 7th of March 2018 at the Jeramias Dias Hall from 2. 30pm onwards.
