Visakha Vidyalaya celebrated the hallowed day of Poson with great fervour, by organizing the 'Poson Bhakthi Geetha Competition 2017' which was held on 28th of June 2017 at the school premises.
Visakha Vidyalaya celebrated the hallowed day of Poson with great fervour, by organizing the 'Poson Bhakthi Geetha Competition 2017' which was held on 28th of June 2017 at the school premises.
Poson Poya which lay the very foundation for the Sri Lankan civilization centred on Buddhism bequeathed the citizens a love of peace and gentleness as well as refinement of character. Visakha Vidyalaya well renowned to have nourished its students emblazoned with Buddhist culture and tradition, held the competition between the classes of each section from the youngsters of Grade 6 to the A/L students of Grade 13. The momentous gifted day of the great religious doctrine was celebrated by the young Visakhian singing of numerous famous songs and poems composed by musical veterans. The winners were chosen from each Grade and were gifted for their melancholy singing.
The significant full moon day which only seconds to Wesak Poya, not only derives on the introduction but also encourages the devotees to compassionate all beings, and it can be noted that Visakha Vidyalaya dutifully celebrated the true religious essence of the day with great devotion.
