As an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, the Drug Prevention Society of Visakha Vidyalaya held ‘Fevero 2017’ on the 16th of June 2017 at the Jeramias Dias hall from 1pm to 5pm onwards as a move to brace up" Drug Prevention " among the students of Colombo.
As an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, the Drug Prevention Society of Visakha Vidyalaya held ‘Fevero 2017’ on the 16th of June 2017 at the Jeramias Dias hall from 1pm to 5pm onwards as a move to brace up" Drug Prevention " among the students of Colombo.
With the increase of drug addicts in both young and senior population in Sri Lanka, it has become a dire need to play a proactive role in instigating awareness in order to protect lives from untimely demise.
Youth being the centrepiece of the country’s future, it is imperative to reach the youth before drugs do.Visakha Vidyalaya as a Buddhist all girls’ school, took a major initiative to spread awareness within the youth through the Fevero drug prevention workshop. The workshop scrutinize on the cons of drug usage and addiction while promoting drug-free and healthy living.
The event was glamoured with the summoning of a large number of fellow students from numerous renowned schools in the Colombo District. The one day workshop concluded successfully, conveying the message that ‘on dope, there is certainly no hope’.
