Intensifying the Fun and Thrill of the Centenary Celebration, Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls’ Association organized the amusing two day carnival “Visakha Centenary Carnival 2017” on the 7th and 8th of April 2017 at the Thurstan Cricket Grounds, Colombo commencing from 5pm onwards till midnight.
Intensifying the Fun and Thrill of the Centenary Celebration, Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls’ Association organized the amusing two day carnival “Visakha Centenary Carnival 2017” on the 7th and 8th of April 2017 at the Thurstan Cricket Grounds, Colombo commencing from 5pm onwards till midnight.
Visakha Vidyalaya well known for never failing to amuse us to the zenith, presented a carnival of perfection with the best of everything. The carnival which was in aid for the School’s Primary Building Project, was enriched with activities bringing fun and zest to all age groups, from the toddles to the young at heart adults.
Countless stalls were arranged with the finest mouthwatering food and beverages from fast food to splendidly filling dinners. Many stalls presented numerous game events to hustle and provided services of Mehendi drawings and face painting. Also not to miss, our fun filled photo booth where the craziest poses and pouts amazed our lenses. A carnival is never complete without the famous Carnival rides which sprang us stomachaches and at the same time spirit us with the best vigour. The Centenary carnival presented Merry-go-rounds, Ferris wheel and Pendulum rides for the crowd to merry-make. The little ones were treated with a bit of extra fun, by organizing few water rides for them to enjoy.
With all the thrilling captivating the Thurstan Cricket Grounds, the finest music was never forgotten to keep the spectators’ ears and tingling toes busy. Wayo kicked off the first day of carnival with their music of flows and strokes astounding the grounds with their heart throbbing melodies. The ever loving veterans - Marians presented a lively dramatic performance on the 8th eve giving the crowd a good night with the great hits. With the conclusion of another remarkable centenary commemorating event, it is no doubt that Visakha Vidyalaya celebrated their 100 years of excellence in style.
