Year twenty-seventeen lacked no entertainment for music loving Sri Lankans. Yet all were anticipated to be revolutionized by the much awaited 15th edition of Colombo’s favourite concert “Revolution of Sounds” which was held in aid of the Lower School Building of St.Thomas’ College, Mt.Lavinia.
The International Understanding project of this year BON VOYAGE'17 took place from the 20th to the 29th of April 2017. This project consisted of 2 main phases. The 1st focusing on exposing the students from Romania participating in this student exchange programme to the culture and ethnic diversity of Sri Lanka. They acquired a chance to visit important places of cultural and historical value in the island such as Trincomalee, Sigiriya, The Museum, The Independence Square and Arcade, Galle, Sinharaja, Gangaramaya, Seemamalakaya and The Zoo along with a visit to the Romanian Embassy in Sri Lanka.
The 2nd phase was a traditional celebration of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival which was a great way for all participants local and foreign to gain an insight into our countries culture. At the end of this festival was a cultural show with displays of talent by our very own interactors.
These events will promote an understanding and a desire within interactors to engage and mingle with other cultures which will contribute towards peace and harmony in the world.
