World Wetlands Day marks the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance. While it is celebrated internationally each year on the 2nd of February 2017 in various ways, the nature club of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo has chosen this special day to conduct their 'Badging Ceremony' this year. The event was held from 8.00 AM onwards at the school premises while the Deputy Minister, Mr. Anuradha Jayaratne from Mahaweli Development Authority graced the occasion as the chief guest. During the ceremony deserving members who passed the exams were recognized with Green, Silver and Gold badges while a special award was granted to the students who got commendable awards for the green badge from the schools in our division.
