With the observable fact that scientific knowledge makes our lives better when applied with concern for human welfare and environmental protection, The Senior Science Society Of Visakha Vidyalaya commenced Avrio '20, focused on the theme, 'A conscious ascent towards a sustainable future'. Avrio '20 took place on the 14th of February 2020 at the Jeremias Dias Hall, from 2.00 PM onwards.

The event was graced by the pretense of Consultant senior research scientist at Sri Lanka Nano Technology-SLINTEC, CEO- research & innovation at LOLC, CEO at Ceylon Graphene Technologies, Mr.Manju Gunawardana. He is a well known inventor who counts over more than 20 years in research and innovation in various subject areas included nano technology, agriculture, pharmaceutical, advanced material and engineering.
Avrio '20 was vibrant with a number of performances in streams of valued speeches, dance, drama and music.

Knowledge regarding the varied fields that science encompasses remains a requisite in allowing life on earth to flourish. Avrio '20 held the grand finale of the Annual Scince Quiz which was a distinguished event among the invited schools. Ananda College and D.S. Senanyake College achieved to reach the top scores and were the finalists of the quiz. Following a intriguing contest with tha Anandians, Senanyakians triumphed overall.
