Visakha Vidyalaya commended the erudite students who excelled in the academic achievements of the year 2016, at the ‘Annual Prize Giving of Visakha Vidyalaya’ on the 2nd of October 2017 at the Jeramias Dias Main Hall from 12.30pm onwards.

The ceremony was honoured by the distinguished presences of the Hon. Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe as the Chief Guest. The Hon. Prime Minister emphasized the academic excellence Visakha Vidyalaya has manifested in both national and international spheres.

The Education Minister Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam attended the Annual Prize Giving as the Guest of Honour and the renowned Dr.Anula Wijesundara who is a proud Visakhian herself, lighted the event as a Special Guest.

The Annual Prize Giving ceremony intends to appreciate the scholars par excellence, and to encourage the young Visakhians to advance in their achievements.

Visakhians have conquered every spectrum and sphere worldwide from medical, diplomacy to becoming woman flyers taking over the blue skies. Visakha Vidyalaya has been persistent in securing its place in the foremost of all National Examinations held island wide and it has become accustomed to witness a Visakhian behind every glory.

This steady incessant success of the school is to be credited to the Principal Mrs. Sandamali Aviruppola and the diligent stuff of Visakha Vidyalaya who act as the very pillars of the students.
