The ICT Day of Rahula Balika Maha Vidyala, Malabe was held on the 23rd of June 2016 at the Colombo International Nautical & Engineering Campus Auditorium from 1.00pm to 5.00pm.
The ICT Day of Rahula Balika Maha Vidyala was held on the 23rd of June at the Colombo International Nautical & Engineering Campus Auditorium from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
Prof. Nalaka Jayakody, Vice Chancellor of CINEC, contributed as the chief guest of the day. A pioneer in his field, Prof. Nalaka is not only a man of many extraordinary capabilities, but also carries with him vast knowledge and experience as a maritime professional. The proud recipient of an “Award of Excellence†in the year 2014, Prof. Nalaka took to stage to deliver a masterful speech, sure to have left all students present greatly inspired.
Guest of Honor for the day was Dr. (Mrs.) Thushari Silva, Senior Lecturer at the University of Moratuwa, Faculty of Information Technology. An academic with years of experience to her name, her presence was greatly valued by all.
With these individuals in attendance, it comes as no surprise that the day’s agenda provided much needed insight into the field of ICT by way of discussions and deliberation. The agenda also included group activities that demanded not only knowledge on the field but also teamwork and communication. Entertainment items by the students of Rahula Balika Maha Vidyalaya were well received and the event’s conclusion saw many praising the efforts of the organizing committee on a successful and effective event.
