The inaugural Marie Musaeus- Rohini Alles Challenge Trophy, held in honor of the founders of the two schools were held in June last year. The game was an absolute thriller in which the Musaeus College netball team got the better of the Gateway College netball team to win the game 27-25. This momentum was continued in 2019, with Musaeus college securing a dominant 38-18 win against Gateway College to retain the challenge trophy at the 2nd annual Musaeus college vs Gateway College netball encounter, held on the 7th of September 2019.

This momentum was continued in 2019, with Musaeus College securing a dominant 38-18 win against Gateway College to retain the challenge trophy at the 2nd annual Musaeus College vs Gateway College netball encounter, held on the 7th of September 2019.
The event kicked off with massive attention being paid to the Under 15 match, with the Musaeus College team emerging as Champions. In the exhibition match played between Methodist College and Gateway College, Kandy, the latter became the winners. Both schools were pleasantly thrilled to witness the teacher’s netball match, which was won by the teachers of Gateway College.
The highlight of the event was the match between the Under 20 teams of the two schools. At the end of four intense quarters, Musaeus College, emerged victorious with a massive 38-18 lead.
Moreover, the Musaeus College netball team managed to bag the following awards at the encounter;
Under 15
Best shooter - Onethra Jayasena
Overall best player - Senuthi Kottegoda
Under 20
Best shooter - Dilmi Wijenayake
Overall best player - Onelly Bambarenda
