Held on the 9th of September 2017 at the school's RIT alles hall under the theme phrase 'In search of the masterpiece'. School media personal from all over the country participated in the media competition held during the morning hours of the day.

The award ceremony organized to award the winning school media units and the most popular mass media channels and programs commenced from 3PM with the honorable participation of the speaker of the Sri Lankan parliament Mr. Karu Jayasuriya and Professor Tiuder Weerasinghe. 14 Ninnada awards were awarded to Sri Lankan television channels.
