Interact Model United Nations, one of the salient Annual International Understanding Projects of the Interact Club of D.S Senanayake College was held on the 28th of April 2018 at the Kingsbury Hotel Colombo from 7AM onwards.
Interact Model United Nations, one of the salient Annual International Understanding Projects of the Interact Club of D.S Senanayake College was held on the 28th of April 2018 at the Kingsbury Hotel Colombo from 7pm onwards.
IMUN 2018 entertained both the elite MUNers and rookie delegates of Sri Lanka with a taste of pure MUN through quality debate presented by three UN committees the General Assembly 03, United Nations Environmental Programme and United Nations Security Council.
The General Assembly 03 discussed in the repercussions of Fanaticism in states and the the rising communal & cultural issues. The committee gave special regards to Neo – colonialism & state sponsored propaganda & its prejudice against civil uprising. One of the dire issues the world is facing is Climate Change and it keeps becoming dreadful day by day. IMUN discussed means of change through resilience & innovation to act upon Climate Change. The United Nations Security Council evaluated the administrative structure of the UN Security Council and came up with measures to ensure increased productivity in curbing international conflict.
IMUN enabled the young MUNers to develop their debating skills and nurtured them in becoming future diplomats.
