Immortality'23, Devi Balika Vidyalaya's Annual English Day held on September 1, 2023, . Organized by the English Literary Association, students from grades 6 to 12 showcased their talents and love for the English language. The theme, Greek mythology, brought Odysseus' post-Trojan War journey to life. This year also introduced the Annual Magazine, 'Creations', with special guests Dr. Shashikala Assella and Dr. Rukshani Wijesekera.
A celebration of a true lingua franca
Immortality'23, the Annual English Day of Devi Balika Vidyalaya, was successfully concluded on the 1st of September 2023 at the Wimala De Silva auditorium.
It is one of the most prestigious and perennial events of the school, organized by the English Literary Association, commemorating the richness and beauty of the English language. All Devians from grade 6 to grade 12 participated wholeheartedly in this event, showcasing their talents and limitless capabilities.
Wound around the theme of Greek mythology, the acts of the day unfolded the story of Odysseus returning home after the decade-long Trojan war, fraught with perilous encounters, divine interventions and personal trials.
For the first time after the global pandemic, Immortality'23 also comprised the launch of the Annual Magazine, 'Creations', carried out in the gracious presence of Dr.Shashikala Assella as the chief guest and Dr. Rukshani Wijesekera as the guest of honours.
Thus and thus, the Annual English Day of Devi Balika Vidyalaya came to an end, leaving an unforgettable mark on the hearts of everyone who joined.
