We all know how difficult, sacrificing and committing the five years one spends as a medical student is. Five years is of course if you are lucky enough, or the number will only get higher. Only one such medical student will actually know the hardship and the stress they went through, reading, studying, cramming, sitting for exams and taking part in endless and painful practical and viva sessions. However, only one such medical student will also have an abundance on memories, of late and sleepless nights together with colleagues, tutoring each other to pull everyone up as a batch, the crazy selfies amidst of the most stressful times and that wondrous and prestigious occasion where you take an oath to be accountable for another’s life.

To celebrate such endless little but precious memories, to laugh a little about the good old days spent as a group of struggling medical students, the 14th batch of the Faculty of medical Science in University of Sri Jayewardenepura had finally organized a reunion, after 6 long and busy years, only because life gets better together.

The function, was named as “Reignite” because it brought the old bonds and memories to the surface from which they were hidden deep under the day to day busy schedules, and was held on Saturday, the 4th of March 2017, at The Grand Monarch, Colombo from 7.00 pm onwards. It was indeed a scene to watch the prestigious doctors, meeting each other and having a good time just like the good old days as Medical Students. The night went by with amazing food, music and a bit of dancing and it would not be wrong to say the “reignited” old medical students sure had a time of their lives.
