The Internship Felicitation Ceremony – IDeA Night 2017 organized by the Department of Accountancy, Faculty of Commerce and Management, University of Kelaniya was held on 23rd February 2017 at Galadari Hotel, Colombo. Together with the main objective of felicitating the institutions that provided internship opportunities to the undergraduates in Accountancy and Auditing, the launch of the Third Volume on Case Studies in Accountancy and the webpage on Digital Recording and Evaluation System (DRES) which is an internet based internship performance evaluation system as well as the certificate award ceremony to the interns was also held at this ceremony.

President of The Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Mr. Lasantha Wickremasinghe was the Guest of Honour, The keynote address was delivered by the Chairman/CEO of Raigam Group of Companies, Dr. Ravi Liyanage and CEO of UNI-DIL Packaging Limited, Mr. Don Bannet Gamalath was the Chief Guest The Vice-Chancellor the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management-Dr. D.M. Semasinghe, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities- Prof. Lakshman Senevirathne, the Chairperson of the Research Council- Prof. M. J.S. Wijeratne, the Director of the Centre for Open and Distance Learning- Dr. P.M.C. Thilakarathne, the Head of the Department of Accountancy-Dr. W.V. A.D. Karunarathne, other heads of departments, the executive officers of institutions that provided internship, and undergraduates were present at this event.
