Mt. Lavinia beach is one of Colombo's finest and most spectacular coasts, with the soul reason of protecting it's beauty the Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Management and Finance along with the Interact Club of Nalanda College and St.Peter's College organized Sandtastic for a costal clean up. Sandtastic was held on 1st of April 2017 at Mount Berjaya from 2pm onwards which was followed by an after party.

Mt. Lavinia beach being one of the mostly visited coastlines, is constantly being polluted by wastes of mainly polythene and plastic. This pollution not only cause an untidy sandline but is also massively threatening to the existences of flora and fauna associated with the coast.

The large crowd who participated in the clean up session was successful in bringing back the lost beauty and cleanliness of Mt. Lavinia. The after party which kicked off the thrill at about 5pm, relaxed the exhausted volunteers with dj music.

The event was sponsored by Berjaya Hotel, TakTik Books and Uber inorder to protect the beautiful coastline of the Island life.
