The annual press conference of the Sri Lanka Model United Nations was held on the 30th of August 2017 at the Lakshman Kadirigamar Institute Colombo 07. The Press Conference started of with the Under Secretary General of Finance, cooperate Relations and Administration Chamath Kalupahana giving out the welcome address. The guest speaker for the Press Conference was the Past Secretary General for the year 2007 Mr Sajith Bandara. He enlightened the audience on how SLMUN had evolved in the past 10 years.

The panel for Press Conference consisted of the Charge D'Affairs Mr Ellawalla, Secretary General for SLMUN 2017 Dimitra Perera, Under Secretary General for Finance, Corporate Relations and Administration Chamath Kalupahana, Under Secretary General for Public Relations News and Media Venuri Kalinga , Under Secretary General for Conference Management, Logistics and Support Functions Dinal Karunaratne and the guest speaker Mr Sajith Bandara. They answered the questions that journalists from different News Agencies asked them.
The Press Conference concluded with the USG of PR and News and Media speaking on how far SLMUN had gone in 2017.
