V.C.O.C Drive for the Elders & Children

The Vintage Car Owners' Club will celebrate "World Elders' and Children's Day 2012" on Sunday 7th October from 2.00 p.m until 6.00 p.m. with a Vintage Car Rally and an extended day of celebration to cater to the needs of Elders and Children. The starting point will be near Independence Grounds Colombo 7 and proceed to Hotel Taj Samudra, Colombo 1, where a Tea Party along with entertainment by the Elders and Children, both individually and in groups with the distribution of gifts and cash donations to the Elders and Children will take place.
A novel feature of the day's celebrations will be that the Elders and Children will get the opportunity of riding in the Vintage Vehicles belonging to the members of the Club.
The objective of the Club is to create awareness amongst Sri Lankans to the existence of these two categories in our society. Highlight their wants, shortcomings and direct necessary help towards them.
The VCOC has through these long years looked after the interest of preserving Historic Vintage Cars to ensure that future generations will have access to some of these beautiful vehicles which are indeed the foundation laid out for today's modem technology available on present day motor vehicles.
The Club apeals to donors to partcipate in making the event a success by sending a donation in cash or kind to be used as gifts for the elders and children.
