Sri lanka unites being the pacemaking community to move towards hope and reconciliation does a numerous projects in order to achieve its ultimate goal. SLU is a youth organization which is being raised by volunteering young passionate individuals who thrive to create positive change in this beautiful country which was suppressed by the curse of the civil war.

While promoting diversity, volunteers of SLU comes from various ethnic backgrounds , religions also representing different parts of the island, which will of course the most needed ingredient for controversial issues being raised now a days by the extremist groups.We as a team, work together to unite youth of all ethnic and religious groups across Sri Lanka while empowering the youth to work towards sustainable development, peace and prosperity.

The future leaders conference (FLC) is an annual event organized by SLU to promote hope and reconciliation that make students, coming from various backgrounds live together for 5 days. FLC will be held for the 5th consecutive year at Sangamitta Balika Vidyalaya, Galle.
Where 500 student leaders 100 teachers and 100 volunteers will be a part of this mega event which also give the opportunity to the native students to promote southern cultural norms and the hospitality that they are proud of. Throughout the conference, these students are taught about the need for reconciliation, enhance leadership skills, and to be equipped with the tools needed to promote positive change in their communities and heal the wounds of the conflict.
A student who joins FLC would gain an experience which is so invaluable that they would cherish it for a lifetime. The transition of a student towards peace and reconciliation is guaranteed at FLC with the inspirational speakers, various group activities, sports and other celebrities who attend to clear the mindset of young blood of Lanka.

With the conclusion of the brutal civil war, a new era has dawned upon us. Sri Lanka has been granted a unique and unmissable opportunity to learn from past mistakes, and find sustainable solutions for the future. In this journey of regaining a whole new peaceful environment where everyone lives with the feeling of freedom, happiness and unity FLC 5 would be the place for you to raise your first step towards understanding the idea celebrating diversity. It's just not a boring session of speakers, mentoring and discussions, but it is also the place to enjoy and make new friends from all over sri lanka.
