2016 is the 54th year of The Plastics and Rubber Institute of Sri Lanka Awards and it is now firmly established as a leading award ceremony for the Plastics and Rubber industries.

As a result, the awards command widespread attention locally, regionally and nationally via highly distinguished supporters and guests. The awards were presented at the Annual Awards Night held on the 2nd of October 2016 at the Water's Edge, Battaramulla. Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, The Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and more than 350 members participated.
