Liverpool FC fans of Sri Lanka held their Annual Futsal Challenge at Futsal Arena, Excel World on Saturday 7th of July 2018.
Liverpool FC fans of Sri Lanka held their Annual Futsal Challenge at Futsal Arena, Excel World on Saturday 7th of July 2018.
Adding a twist to this year's event were the invitational teams that participated in a revamped tournament format of cup and plate championships.
Team '50 shades of Red' representing Liverpool fans were crowned championship winners after beating 'Lighting Chelsea' representing the Chelsea fans 2-1 in the cup final. Yamin Ahmed of '50 Shades of Red' won the top scorer award.
Team 'Class of 92' representing Manchester United fans beat "Galacticos" representing Real Madrid fans 4-0 in the plate final.
Over 130 goals were scored in 26 games throughout the event. The event was a showcase of sportsmanship as well as an event that strengthened the bond between the LFC fans of Sri Lanka and the fans representing the invitational teams.
