Eka Ahasak Yata, a musical extravaganza organised by the International Movement for Community Development (IMCD) in order to raise funds for those from underprivileged communities, was successfully held on the 3rd of september 2017 at the Nelum Pokuna Indoor Theatre.

The concert featured an array of popular local artists including Wayo, B&S, Chithral Somapala and Sanuka Wickramasinghe, delivering the promised breathtaking performances.

Wayo left their mark in the local music industry since the band’s inception in 2012, establishing their own trademark of music ranging from alternative rock to fusion music. Their much loved songs “Api Kawuruda” and “Api Sanasille” have had us moving our feet and singing along with a rush of excitement on many an occasion. Sanuka Wickramasinghe, Chitral Somapala and Bathiya and Santhush(B&S) are no strangers to Sri Lanka’s music industry.

These well established artists kept the eager audience entertained and enthralled throughout this memorable evening with a cocktail of genres delivered to cater to every palate. The immensely supportive audience by their presence helped raised the necessary funds needed to carry out the proposed community development projects envisioned by IMCD.
