Lets ALL RISE UP against Gender Based Violence!
OBR Sri Lanka invites you to join the global One Billion Rising movement.
WHEN: Thursday the 14th of February
WHERE: LIPTON CIRCUS
4.30pm - Demonstration
6.00pm - Candlelight Vigil
Dedicated to all the women and children who have been abused, harassed, raped and killed because of Gender Based Violence.
"A woman is raped every 90 minutes in sri Lanka.1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped in her lifetime"
That's just numbers. But when are we taking an action? A realistic rise up over this harassment?
Here we are rising with passion with fragile hopes with a wish with a belief to make a less harassed place rather a better place for your sister, for your daughter for your mate for you. We can make the dream come true. Join us! We invite you all with the hope,who would believe that we can rise up,for this heroic event "Let's rise up-1 billion rising" a dedication to all the women and children who have been abused harassed raped and killed because of gender based violence,on 14th feb 2013 4.00 pm at Lipton Circus to mark your voice. Stop waiting while some one else is harassing, some one else is abusing,because your voice can make a difference.
For this course of rising up OBR sri lanka invites you to be present with your friends, your colleagues, your relatives or with your co-workers to make yourself heard.
Wear RED BLACK or PINK to mark your unification over the course.
STRIKE DANCE AND RISE.
We invite each and every one of you to join us and RISE!
What you need to do:
1) Come in GROUPS; bring your friends, family and coworkers!
2) BRING placards, signs, songs and music
3) Come dressed in RED, BLACK or PINK to show your solidarity towards the global OBR movement.
5) This is a movement, an UPRISING. Bring your voices and bring your energy to make yourselves heard!
