Naadro percussion pervaded performing prodigy at the 'BeraFest 2017', the 10th anniversary celebration of Naadro at Viharamahadevi Open Theatre on the 26th of November 2017 with a complete day full of the best beats.

The BeraFest presented the percussion fanatics island wide a day's line up of percussion workshops, conducted by veterans covering a spectrum of genres from Sri Lankan up-country and low-country drumming to Latin percussion. There were special workshops conducted by International percussionists such as Pete Lockette from the United Kingdom on Kanjira,Tabla and Konnakol, Giovanni Hidalgo from America on Latin Percussion and the Indian traditional drummer Kutla Khan on Tabla, Dholak and Kartal. The workshops turned out to be a great success for they were able to enlightened a mass crowd who attended throughout the day, on percussion styles and instruments.
Under the low red glare of sunset, as the workshops concluded, the grand concert of BeraFest commenced with Drumology presented by the ever loved Naadro band, which took away the impatient hearts of the fans and turned on the excitement.
The concert was graced by the distinguished presence of the Prime Minister Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Chief Guest along with the Second Lady Dr.Maithree Wickramasinghe. Cabinet Minister of Law and Order & Southern Development Hon. Sagala Ratnayaka also graced the occasion as a Guest of Honour.
An icon of Sri Lankan percussion, Jananath Warakagoda presented an original piece and the veteran Prasantha Rupathilaka gave a Sri Lankan low-country performance which was vibrant as ever.
The English percussionist Pete Lockette, well known as a versatile and prolific percussionist, gifted the Lankan crowd a solo performance of traditional drums which blew the minds of the audience. The drummer Eric Moore who has toured with legendary Grammy Award winners such as Sly & The Family and Bobby Brown, rocked the BeraFest to the zenith boosting the adrenaline in the spectators.
Making it not another run-of-the-mill concert, BeraFest presented the best of both worlds on the same stage with performances which collaborated the international percussionists with local musicians such as Eshan Denipitiya, Saman Lenin, Jananath Warakagoda and the very own Rakitha Wickramaratne of Naadro. A BeraFest is no fest at all without the melodious tunes of our neighbours. Pleasing the eardrums with an Indian touch, Peshala Manoj together with Kutla Khan and the band performed Rajasthani folk songs by unique traditional instruments.
A live performance by well known aritsts in the Entertainment Industry musically supported by Naadro secured a special position in the night's agenda. Chithral Somapala with 'Miringuwa Parada', Lahiru Perera singing 'Motu' , Kasun Kalhara with his single 'Leila' , the duo Bathiya and Santhush with 'Hinipeththata' and the boy band Daddy performing 'Dangalanna ba' resonated the beating hearts saturated with ecstasy.
It is no secret that Naadro has been pleasing us to the utmost level of musical delight for ten long years, by every single performance they have ever made. In such a state, you can never presume an ordinary satisfaction by attending to a Naadro concert, but rather walk in expecting the unexpected. BeraFest 2017 by Naadro was a show of astonishing sensation filled with euphonious entertainment and was unsurprisingly house full.
