An annual national event of AIESEC Sri Lanka, Global Village 2015 was held on the 24th of July 2015 from 3.30 pm onwards at Arcade, Independence Square.
AIESEC is the largest global student-run youth organization impacting the world through leadership development experiences and is present in 124 countries and territories. AIESEC has been facilitating youth leadership activities as well as international internships & volunteer experiences for over 65 years.
An annual national event of AIESEC Sri Lanka, Global Village 2015 was held on the 24th of July 2015 from 3.30 pm onwards at Arcade, Independence Square, partnering with Raffles Design Institute, Colombo and bringing people together from a variety of diverse cultural backgrounds to celebrate multi ethnicity, cross culture and global citizenship. It was a time of festivity that strived towards promoting peace and harmony by bridging the gaps and differences between countries. The Global Village 2015 catered towards creating awareness, creating bonds and relationships and promoting visibility, consisting around 150 foreign university students from 29 countries across the globe with the involvement of over 500 participants.The event contained cultural stalls representing each country, rich and diverse cuisine a, well as international music, costumes and stage performances.
