Fostering and developing the “taste” of the Sri Lankan students, breaking through the traditional thinking frames built around “the art of Percussion”, and refining the complications of western percussionism, and introducing percussion art with the correct technologies and methods to the student population of Sri Lanka, the “Let’s Do it with Naadro” program which was organized by the Oriental Music Association of Royal College – Colombo in collaboration with Naardo, and Tiara Rollo, was successfully held among the schools of Galle, Colombo, Kurunegala, Kegalle and Kandy areas throughout the last four months.
Rakitha Wickramaratne; who is a brand endorser of the world’s largest percussion instrument manufacturer – Latin Percussion, the founder and leader of Naadro along with his team Naadro empowers the program with their knowledge and dedication.
With the huge success this program had gained over the past four months, we were able to spread this program and its contents through the whole country by holding an inter school competition and producing a Television program which telecasts correspondingly.
Our focus as we reach the finale of this program is to bring these young and talented budding percussionists to limelight. Plans have already been laid out for the finale – a concert of the international level to be held at the “Nelum Pokuna International Theatre” on 30th of December 2012, where the best performers would experience their second major concert.
