SHOWDOWN - Stop Harassment of Women

"Show You Care" is a project that spearheads a campaign to stop harassment of women in Sri Lanka.
It began as bus campaign in mid June, and is now evolving into an island-wide campaign to eliminate harassment from Sri Lanka as a whole.
A survey indicates that 2/3rd of the women that commute by public transport in Colombo are victims of harassment, another survey done by UNICEF signifies that 24% of mid,late adolescent school girls are sexually abused in Sri Lanka and 50% of working women complain of gender based mistreatment in general.
Why do we not speak up? Why do the perpetrators go unpunished? What are the possible preventive precautions?
It is TIME we STOOD UP for our MOTHERS, SISTERS and FRIENDS. Join hands with us on SHOWDOWN as we take SHOW You Care to the next level.
SHOWDOWN will be the launch of this island-wide campaign. It will be a meeting point for interested groups, people and media to connect and create greater awareness about the issue. It will be both informative and entertaining, with a forum theatre and some musical performances!
