It's been two years since he left us. Michael Jackson, the greatest entertainer ever lived , was an american recording artist, a singer,a dancer a song writer & a musician who was well known as the king of pop & his contribution to music, dancing & fashion has made him a global icon for over four decades. He was the 7th child of the Jackson family and he debuted music with his brothers as a member of the Jackson 5 and began his solo career in 1971.

Today we have thousands of channels promoting new comers and bringing new talents in to the arena. But for Michael it was a tough task as the technology wasn't that much developed when he started his career. In the early 80's Michael became a dominant figure in popular music. His idea of producing music videos for his songs became an art and also a promotional tool. "Beat it" , "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" was the most successful those days and those videos even helped to bring the relatively new TV channel MTV to fame. In 1990's his eye catching music videos such as "Black or White" and "Scream" made his image stay on MTV for a long time. Through stage performances and through uncommon music videos Michael introduced some unique dancing techniques to which he gave the names as "Moonwalk" & "Robot"

In 1982 Michael released the album "Thriller" and still it is the best selling album of all time. His albums "Off the wall (1979)" , Bad(1987), Dangerous(1991) and HIStory(1995) also rank among the worlds best selling. He was one of the very few artists who got inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame twice. He was the only artist to make there in through the world of pop and rock n roll.

As well as the Grammy Legend Award and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award

26 American Music Awards
More than any other artist, including the "Artist of the Century"

13 number-one singles in the United States in his solo career

And the estimated sale of over 750 million records worldwide.

Jackson won hundreds of awards, which have made him the most-awarded recording artists in the history of music.

Michael was a notable humanitarian who had been involved in donating and raising hundreds of millions of dollars for beneficial causes and supporting more than 39 charities. According to Michael , he wanted to build a better tomorrow for the children and spent a lot of his time visiting seriously ill children tirelessly going from hospital to hospital meeting these children just to brighten up their lives.

Regarding Michaels personal life including his changing appearance behavior and personal relationships generated controversy. In 1993 he was accused of child abuse and the case was settled out of court and no formal charges were brought. In 2005 once again he was acquitted of further sexual abuse allegations and the jury ruled him not guilty on all counts. Its very sad that when the case started in 1993 and in 2005 media gave a huge publicity for the case and almost all media were silent when the jury ruled him not guilty.

While preparing for his comeback concert series This Is It, Jackson died of acute propofol intoxication on June 25, 2009, after suffering from cardiac arrest. Before his death, Jackson had been administered drugs including propofol and lorazepam. Jackson's death triggered a global outpouring of grief, and as many as one billion people around the world reportedly watched his public memorial service on live television. In March 2010, Sony Music Entertainment signed a $250 million deal with Jackson's estate to retain distribution rights to his recordings until 2017, and to release seven posthumous albums over the decade following his death. And the first posthumous album "Michael" got released last December (15th, 2010).

ඔහු අප අතරින් සමුගෙන අදට වසර දෙකකි.දැනට මෙලොව පහල වූ විශිෂ්ටතම වින්දනය සපයන්නා යන අන්වර්ථ නාමයෙන් රසික ජනතාවගේ සිත තුල රජකරන ඔහු නමින් මයිකල් ජැක්සන් ය.ඔහුව හැඳින්වීම විවිධාකාරයෙන් සිදු කල හැකිය.ඇමෙරිකානු සංගීතඥයෙකු, ගායකයෙකු, නර්තන ශිල්පියෙකු, ගීත රචකයෙකු, හා තනු නිර්මාන ශිල්පියෙකු ලෙසද පොප් සංගීත ක්ෂේත්‍රයෙහි රජු ලෙසද (king of pop) රසික හදවත් තුල තවමත් රජකරන මොහු සිය සංගීත දිවියෙන් හා නර්තන ශිල්පයට අමතරව තමන්ටම විශේෂ වූ විලාසිතා තුලින් එම ක්ෂේත්‍ර වෙත ඉටු කල ඇති අමිල මෙහෙය නිසා ලොව පුරා රසික රසිකාවියන්ගේ එදිනෙදා දිවිය තුල සුවිශේෂී අංගයක් වීමට ඔහුට හැකිවී ඇත.ජැක්සන් පවුලේ 7 වන සාමාජිකයා වූ ඔහු මුලින්ම Jackson 5 සංගීත කණ්ඩායම තුලින් සිය සහෝදරයන් හා සංගීත ක්ෂේත්‍රයට පිවිසි අතර 1971 දී ඔහු Jackson 5 කණ්ඩායමෙන් මිදී සිය සංගීත දිවිය ස්වෝත්සාහයෙන් කරගෙන යාමට මුල පිරුවේය.

අද කාලයේ දහසක් නාලිකා නවක තරු හදුන්වා දෙමින් හා ඔවුන් තව තවත් ජනප්‍රිය කරමින් විවිද වැඩසටහන් පැවැත්වුවද මයිකල් සිය සංගීත දිවිය ආරම්භ කරන අවදියේ තාක්ෂනය එතරම් දියුණු අවදියක පැවතියේ නැත. 80 දශකයේදී සිය දක්ෂතාවය මත පමණක් පදනම්ව මයිකල් අතිශයින් ජනප්‍රිය වෙමින් පැවතුනි.තම ගීත වලට ඔහුටම ආවේනික වූ ශෛලයකින් කල රූප රචනාද ඔහුගේ ගීත තව තවත් ජනප්‍රිය කරවීමට හේතු විය. Beat it, Thrillerහා Billie Jean ඒ අතරින් සුවිශේෂ වන්නේ දශක 3 කට පසු අදද එම රූප රචනා විවිද සංගීත වැඩසටහන් තුලින් අපද දැකගත හැකි වීමය.එම අවදියේ සාපේක්ෂව ළදරු තත්වයේ පැවති MTV(නුතන සංගීත නාලිකා අතර දැවැන්තයෙක්)නාලිකාව රසිකයන් අතර ජනප්‍රිය වීමට හේතු වුයේ එවකට එම නාලිකාවේ මයිකල් ගේ ගීත නිරතුරුවම ප්‍රචාරය කිරීම බව බටහිර ලෝකයට නොරහසකි.ඔහුගේ Black or White හා Scream යන ගීත 90 දශකය පුරාම ඔහුගේ රුව රුපවාහිනි වැඩසටහන් තුල සුලභ දෙයක් කරවීමට සමත් විය.වේදිකාවේදී මෙන්ම ගීත වලට යෙදු රූප රචනා තුලින් ඔහු රසිකයන් වෙත පෙර නොඅත්විඳී නර්තන පියවරයන් කිහිපයක් හඳුන්වා දෙනු ලැබිණි.උදාහරණ ලෙස Moonwalk හා Robot ශෛලීන් හැඳින්විය හැකිය.

1982 දී මයිකල් රසිකයන්ට තිලින කල Thriller ඇල්බමය අදටද මෙලොව නිර්මාණය වි ඇති සාර්ථකම ඇල්බමය ලෙස නොබිඳුණු වාර්තා අතරට එක් වි ඇත.මිට අමතරව ඔහු නිර්මාණය කල Off the wall(1979) , Bad(1987), Dangerous(1991)හා HIStory(1995) යන අල්බමද දැනට ඉහලම අලෙවියක් ඇති නිර්මාණ වාර්තා අතර ඉහලින්ම පවති. Dance Hall of Fame වෙත දෙවතාවක් ඇතුලත් වූ කලාකරුවන් කිහිපදෙනා අතරද මොහුගේ නාමය ඇත.එසේම pop , rock n roll යන අංශයෙන් එහි සටහන් වි ඇති එකම නාමයද මොහු සතුය.

මොහු තම ජීව්තයේ ළඟා කරගත් අනෙක් සුවිශේෂී අවස්ථා කිහිපයක් සඳහන් කරන්නේනම්,

තම සංදර්ශන මගින් වාර කිහිපයක්ම පිහිටවූ ගිනස් වාර්තා,

Grammy සම්මාන 13ක්
ඊට අතරම Grammy Legend සම්මානය හා Grammy Lifetime Achievementසම්මානයද සඳහන් කල යුතුය.

American Music සම්මාන 26ක්
වෙනත් කිසිම කලා කරුවෙකු තවමත් එම වාර්තාව බිඳ හෙලා නැත.මේ අතරට Artist of the Century හෙවත් සියවසෙහි කලාකරු යන සම්මානයද ඇතුලත්ය

එක්සත් ජනපදය තුල අංක 1 වූ ස්ව තනි නිර්මාණ 13ක්
මේ වනතෙක් මුල් 100 දෙනා අතර සිටින වෙනත් කිසිම කලාකරුවෙකු මේ අසලටවත් පැමිණ නැත.

මිට අමතරව දල වශයෙන් මිලියන 750කට අධික ගීත නිෂ්පාදන අලෙවියද එම වාර්තා අතර ඉහලින්ම පවතින වාර්තාවකි.

මයිකල් සම්මාන සිය ගණනක් දිනා ඇති අතර ඔහු සංගීත ඉතිහාසය තුල වැඩිම වාර ගණනක් සම්මනයට ලක්වී ඇති කලාකරු ලෙසද වාර්තා පොත් තුල රන් අකුරින් ලියවී ඇත.

මයිකල් සුවිශේෂී මනුෂවාදියෙකුද විය.මොහු සමාජ සත්කාර ව්‍යාපෘති 39 කට අදික ගණනකට මුදලින් හා තම ශ්‍රමයෙන් දායක වී ඇත.මයිකල් පවසන පරිදි දිළිඳු දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් හෙටක් නිර්මාණය කිරීම ඔහුගේ එකම පරමාර්ථය වූ අතර ඔවුන්ගේ දිවියට එළියක්‌ එක් කිරීමට හැකි පමණින් දායක වන බවත්ය.

මයිකල්ගේ පුද්ගලික ජීවිතය ගැන සලකා බැලීමේදී , ඔහුගේ පෙනුමෙහි සිදුවූ විපර්යාසය, ඔහුගේ හැසිරීම හා සමාජ සම්බන්දකම් මතභේදයට තුඩු දුන් ඒවා විය. 1993 දී ළමා අපචාර චෝදනාවන්ට ලක් වුවද වසර ගණනාවක් පැවති නඩු වාර ගණනකින් පසු සියලු චෝදනා වලින් ඔහු නිදහස් කරන ලදී. 2005 වසරේදී නැවත මෙම සිදුවීම් කරලියට පැමිණියද එවරද සියලු චෝදනා වලින් ඔහු නිදහස් කරනු ලැබුයේ ඔහුට චෝදනා කල පුද්ගලයාගේ අපචාරයට ලක්වුවායැයි කි එවකට (1993) කුඩා දරුවකුව සිටි පුද්ගලයා තම පියා මුදල් ලබා ගැනීමේ අරමුනින් මයිකල් තමන් අපචාරයට ලක් කල බව පවසන මෙන් තමාට කි බවට පාපොච්චාරණය කිරීම නිසාය. මයිකල් චෝදනාවන්ට ලක් වන විට ඒ සඳහා පුළුල් මාද්‍ය ප්‍රචාරයක් ලබා දුන් මාද්‍ය ඔහු නිදොස් වූ විට සැලකිය යුතු ප්‍රචාරයක් ලබා නොදීම කණගාටුවට කරුණකි.

50වන වියෙහි පසුවන විට තමන් දිගු කාලයක සිට සුදානම් වෙමින් සිටි This Is It නම් වූ සංදර්ශන පෙළ රඟ දැක්වීමට සතියකට පෙර propofol උත්තේජනයක් නිසා ඇතිවූ හර්දයාබදයකින් 2009 ජුනි 25 වන දින මයිකල් ජැක්සන් දිවියෙන් සමුගත්තේය.මොහු වෙනුවෙන් පැවති සැමරුම් උත්සවය බිලියන 1 කට අධික සජීවී ප්‍රේක්ෂක ආකර්ෂණයක් ලබා ගැනීමට සමත් විය. 2010 මාර්තු මාසයේදී Sony Music Entertainment සමාගම හා Jackson's Estate ඩොලර් මිලියන 250 ක ගිවිසුමක් අත්සන් කරමින් 2017 දක්වා වූ කාලය තුල තවත් ඇල්බම 7 ක් රසික රසිකාවියන් වෙත තිලින කිරීමට මුල පිරුණි.එහි කුළුඳුල් නිර්මාණය වූ Michael ඇල්බමය 2010 දෙසැම්බර් 15 දින රසිකයන් වෙත තිලින කෙරුණි.මෙයද අලෙවියෙන් පසු වාර්තා අලෙවි අතරට එක්වීම පුදුමයට කරුණක් නොවුනි.
