Good looks isn't the only thing.You can wear all the greatest clothes and all the greatest shoes, but you’ve got to have a good spirit on the inside. Meet Thanusha, a girl who got an amazing personality with her good looks. She has already released her debut single with a music video with the hopes for a twinkling future.
So, Thanusha, shall we begin with a little introduction about you ?
My name is Thanusha Thenabadu. Born in Sri Lanka and currently based in Australia. I have one brother, who at the moment is pursuing his higher studies. It's been a few months since I took to music. Unlike some other artists, I don't hail from a music oriented background.

How did you make your way into this field?
I have always possessed a passion for Music and Dance since my youngest of days. At the age of 6-7yrs I, on my own, began to play the piano by using my sense of hearing. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to pursue music as my parents encouraged me more in my academics. Since then studies became my priority. Now on completion of my studies and on being independent, I managed to venture into the world of music with my debut single "Insane with love" which was launched a few months back.
So, next I’m going to ask you about your academic side. How far have you studied? Tell us about your school life...
At this moment in time, I am employed at a leading pharmaceutical company in Australia. Back in Sri Lanka, I schooled at Wycherley International and earlier on at Impington College, Cambridge in UK. School life is irreversible and irreplaceable. I was lucky enough to enjoy a burden less and carefree life. As adults, we have so many more responsibilities in this day and age. Decisions require much more thought and consideration.
Any fashion trends you usually like to follow? We’d love to know your views on that side.
Fashionable outfits, I most definitely love. I like styles at Guess, Bardot, lolitta and buy most of my clothes from such labels. As Alicia Keys says "The most important thing to remember is that you can wear all the greatest clothes and all the greatest shoes, but you’ve got to have a good spirit on the inside. That’s what’s really going to make you look like you’re ready to rock the world."
You’re an artist of this beautiful island of Sri Lanka. Could we know your attitude towards your motherland?
My country means Everything to me. Where ever I may live and who ever I may become and whatever my passport may say, I am proud to call myself a Sri Lankan. It is essentially who I am and that’s who I will be now and forever.
What do you normally do when you get a leisure time?
Free time is a scarcity given my work load. Whenever I do get some off time, I love to go shop, hang out with my friends and listen to some good music.
What is the most unforgettable incident in your life?
Among the many I have been blessed with, the highlight would be, the day I recorded my song and shot my debut music video. That was a whole new experience for me and I had the time of my life.
Here’s our favorite question which your fans also be longing for you to answer. Have you got yourself a soul mate yet and what’s your view on the subject of love?
Well I do believe in soul mates and also believe that not everyone is that lucky to meet the right one, but when I do meet my soul mate I will let u guys know in time to come. I go by the saying; "To love is nothing. To be loved is something. To love and be loved is everything’’.
You’re still a young girl, yet you were able to get on to this huge field of music. Could we know the secret behind your success?
Well if there is a will then there is always a way. I believe there’s nothing in this world that cannot be done or cannot be achieved. For success you require only two things: - Pure determination and hard work. Anyone can realize their dreams.
How many songs you've released? Any music Videos?
I just made my entry into the music industry with my debut single "Insane with love". It was produced by Iraj Weerarathne. He did an amazing job with my song and is one truly talented musician in Sri Lanka. It also features an up and coming artist and a very close friend of mine Khalid Sher The lyricist of my song is yet another close friend, Shasha Gajaweera.
Have you got any special role model you follow and would like to imitate?
My musical role model is Beyonce. I was just 16yrs when I heard her sing independent women in the band Destiny’s Child. She is such an inspiration and I am definitely awed by her talent, personality, looks and she really is the ‘whole package’. Other artists I like include; Christ Brown, Trey songz, Neyo, Adele and Rihanna. I don’t believe in imitating but I do use their diverse styles as inspiration to fuel my own unique style.
Do you use any working out schedule to maintain your figure? Any advices can you give to your fans regarding food?
Given my tight schedule, time to work out is so hard to come by, but I do watch my diet in attempting to eat healthy and avoid junk food as much as possible. My advice is to eat all sorts of food but in manageable quantities and to avoid over-eating.
What is the saddest incident you have faced so far?
Hmmm. Good question. One incident comes to mind, however at this stage I prefer to keep that incident private. Other than that life is treating me well. Even though I have some minor problems in life I try to keep positive and look forward to all life’s pleasant surprises!.
Your fans will love to know about your future ambitions.
My future musical ambition would be to entertain my beloved fans by putting out more and more songs. If I get lucky even release my debut album.
Are you satisfied with your journey in this field so far?
As an artist just starting out, I am satisfied with what I have done so far. "Insane with love" is my debut single and I was honoured to work with Iraj Weerathne, given that he is one of the leading producers in Sri Lanka. Furthermore the song received air play on radio stations like Yes Fm and various Sri Lankan channels. As for it being my first song, I am quite pleased!
