While singing from her heart’s core she makes effort in making music to accompany their movements and visual displays of magic, mystery and beauty. Still in her early steps in this field, she shows the signs of a dazzling future. So people, meet Disani, a star in the making.

So, let's start this conversation asking who really is this?
My name in full is Disani Dhanushika Adihetti. I’ll be 20 this November 27. Currently I’m following an Audio Engineering Diploma under Kalasuri Diliup Gabadamudalige. I’m a former student of Buddhist Ladies College, Colombo 7. I’ve sung in several TV children programs for Rupavahini & Shrilakvahini. I’m a girl, who had a very big passion in singing since the very infant age; it’s a passion which grew bigger through the years.

How did you get into this field?
Well you could say, I got into this field through an invitation of my friend to sing “FEEL ALL RIGHT”. And then got the opportunity to work with Shenal and A- Tunes (Tharindu).

Is there any specific reason for you to choose this specific field?
I had a great passion for music, writing my own lyrics and composing my own music. I loved singing since my childhood. During my schooling period I participated and won many singing contests. So that’s what made me decide that I should go through the music field.

If we asked about your family background, the role they played in your journey?
I’m in a healthy family. My mum was a background singer back in her years. I’ve an elder brother and a younger sister. My parents both were very supportive and this provided me with more opportunities to learn what I desire to. I remember when I was a young little; my parents bought me an organ. I have been exploring music ever since then and started taking organ lessons. So I started my musical journey and continue it to this day.

How do you feel about being a music artist in Sri Lanka?
I would say, great! Even though it’s a tiny island, in this little period of time we got many talented artists in this Island who are hard to compete, so it’s going to be really a great challenge for me. At least I am happy that I’ve been able to survive coming up to this level and I’m proud of it.

Have you involved in music before you got into this field? In school for instance?
Yes. Why not. I use to sing in few of Rupavahini children programmes. And also I participated in some of my school singing competitions. Think I have to go way back to school to the age of 6 I remember playing violin. I would not say that it was then that I became a musician; it was some of the foundation. But it was the beginning of my musical journey.

What is your most memorable memory so far?
Well, that would the shooting days of my music video “Feel All Right.” That was really unforgettable. Because that was like my long term dream, which came true.

Do you love to follow new fashion trends in your ordinary life or do you prefer to be Simple ?
If yes to follow new fashion what do you prefer most? I personally love fashion. I am a trendy person and I got my own style. Which I can say is unique. I like t-shirts with cool or funny messages and i usually like some cute or cool things.

What is the most unforgettable incident in your life?
There are so many. But one of the best out of it is when my baby sister was born after like I was 17 years old. I was overjoyed and excited.

It is hard to get through in this kind of field without help and lots of encouragement. Let's remind about the people who helped you.
Yes. A bunch of people. My family, My School, My Fans, well wishers, especially I should thank to Doctor Kumar. I couldn’t have made it without him. And I met Shenal and Tharindu (A-TUNE), really interesting, helpful, talented people. And Kalasuri Diliup Gabadamudalige, a wonderful teacher and guiding me towards the right path of music. And in this moment, I’m in such a good place with my friends. I feel confident and I’m happy there are people who I can truly trust in my life.

What are your future ambitions?
To be an Audio Engineer. And want to make a change in the music industry. I want to make music to accompany their movements and visual displays of magic, mystery and beauty and sing from my heart's core.

As whole, what is your opinion about Sri Lankan Music industry?
I guess I’m lucky to come on the music field in a time where srilanka’s music as gone on to an international level. Some express music creativity for fame, while others do it as a hobby. Whatever their intentions are, they do their craft as a general expression. We have so many talented artists in Sri Lanka and there are many unknown artist around us who gift the special talented by God .Srilankan music industry would be able to someday get few of the songs to the US charts.

Well, let us ask you a question we ask from everyone. What is your view about love?
Love is all about TRUST & UNDERSTANDING. Love is a feeling that two people have for Each other. And they express the in many different ways. Love is looking into eyes, and realizing they Disani Dhanushika are smiling only for you. Love is wanting to hold your child, or your mother, or your lover, for as long as you can imagine. Love is wanting more for another than for yourself. Love is the biggest sacrifice and the biggest gift. Most of all, love is happiness. Love your head is smarter than your heart. Follow your head, your heart will learn to love what your head knows is right!

Any final message to your fans?
I’m planning to make a music production in the future. I thank all the people who helped me and supported to come up to this position. And I hope I would continuously keep getting your love and blessings as always. I'd like to share my FaceBook page and I hope you enjoy my music.

Are you happy with whatever you've achieved so far in life?
Yes, I’m happy for coming this far in this very young age, well that doesn’t mean that I’m settled. I still have so many more things study and achieve. I'm happy with what I've done but I want more. I'm greedy when it comes to success.
