2000th Test Match - 21.07.2011

alt In the history of cricket, 21st of July 2011 will be a great, wonderful, unforgettable and very special day. Yeah on that day the test match between India and England going to be held. The 2000th test match in the history of world cricket.

The first test match was played in 1877. It was between Australia and England. Test match has 134 years of history. Today there are ten cricketing test nations, and test cricket is widely regarded as the ultimate measure of ability, ‘testing’ the strength of the best cricketing teams in the world. There are many things which are very grateful and fresh that we can’t forget in those years. So here we shall look at some of those events which are very special.

Ashes The first test match between England and Australia in 1877 and success of the match led to the born of Ashes test series. The first test match was won by Australia, beating the England by 45 runs difference.

In 1882 Again Australia beat England just by 7 runs difference at The Oval in which Australia beat England on an English ground for the first time. The obituary stated that English cricket had died, and the body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia.

This is the reason to the name of Ashes series.

1n 1948 Australia set new standards, completely outplaying their hosts to win 4–0 with one draw. This Australian team, led by Bradman, who turned 40 during his final tour of England.

The first test match which was drawn in the history of test match is, the match between Australia and West Indies in Melbourne. Australia scored 232 for the target of 233. So the match was drawn. An amazing run out was made in this test match by West Indians.

In 1960 West Indies kicked down the England team. They won the test match by 260 runs difference.

In the 100th birthday of test cricket, a miracle happened. There was a match between Australia and England same as in 1877 and Australia won by 45 runs.

In 1981 England stamped a great victory. At first they struggled but at last they beat Australia very powerfully. The condition of Australia was very pathetic.

In 1984 England fixed a target of 342 for West Indies. W.I reached the target in 5 and ½ hour and the won the match.

India put a full stop for the dominance of Australia in test cricket in 2001. And in 2008 South Africans stopped the continuous victory of Australia in their home ground. These are the big trouble for the Australian team.

So all are be ready to watch the 2000th test match on coming Thursday.

3. South Africa - 12 March 1889 - Did not participate in international cricket between 10 March 1970 and 10 November 1991. This was due to a decision by the International Cricket Conference in 1970 to suspend South Africa, in response to the then South African Government's policy of apartheid.

4. West Indies - 23 June 1928 - Consists of players from a number of Caribbean nations and dependencies.

5. New Zealand - 10 January 1930

6. India - 25 June 1932 - Before partition of India in 1947, included territory that now forms Pakistan and Bangladesh.

7. Pakistan - 16 October 1952 - Before Bangladeshi independence in 1971, included territory that is now Bangladesh.

8. Sri Lanka - 17 February 1982

9. Zimbabwe - 18 October 1992 - Suspended from involvement in Test cricket between 10 June 2004 and 6 January 2005, and indefinitely since 18 January 2006. Test status to be restored by May 2011.
